Pondicherry

Pondicherry, or now Puducherry, or even better, Pondy, is a former French colony and one of the best places to breathe in a bit of colonial heritage. The French Quarter, with tree-lined streets, colorful villas and cafes exuding the aromas of mouth-watering delicacies is the ideal place to experience the lingering French influence. The Auroville, is a green city that doesn’t encourage mindless tourism but if you respect their boundaries, it is a beautiful place to be- serene and pollution free. Pondicherry has something for everyone, with its French streets and quaint cafes by the beach, it is a beautiful mix of old and new.
